The Squirrel Attacked the Pig
In a peaceful forest near a small farm, animals lived side by side without many problems. Among them was a curious squirrel named Sammy and a large pig named Peter. Peter spent most of his days relaxing in the mud, while Sammy raced through the trees collecting nuts and exploring every corner of the woodland.
One bright morning, Sammy discovered a pile of acorns he had carefully hidden near the edge of the farm. To his surprise, the acorns were scattered everywhere. Sammy searched the area and soon noticed Peter sniffing around the spot.
Convinced that the pig had ruined his secret food stash, Sammy became very upset. He climbed onto a low branch and chattered angrily. Peter looked up but had no idea why the squirrel was making such a fuss. He simply shrugged and continued searching for roots in the soil.
Sammy's frustration grew. Without thinking, he leaped from the branch and landed on Peter's back. The squirrel darted around the pig's shoulders, flicking his tail and squeaking loudly. Startled, Peter squealed and ran in circles across the field.
The commotion attracted the attention of the other animals. Birds fluttered from nearby trees, rabbits peeked from their burrows, and even the old goat wandered over to see what was happening.
After several moments, Sammy finally stopped and confronted Peter. "Why did you destroy my acorn stash?" he demanded.
Peter blinked in confusion. "I didn't touch your acorns," he replied. "I was sleeping in the mud all morning."
Just then, a group of mischievous crows flew overhead, dropping a few acorns they had stolen. Sammy immediately realized his mistake. The crows, not Peter, had scattered his food supply.
Feeling embarrassed, Sammy apologized for attacking the pig. Peter laughed kindly and accepted the apology. Together, they gathered the remaining acorns and stored them in a safer place.
From that day forward, Sammy learned an important lesson: never accuse someone without knowing the facts. As for Peter, he gained a new friend, and the two animals often shared peaceful afternoons near the forest edge.
